James joined Future Assist in 2023 with a brief of providing technical support to the accounting and taxation team. With a career spanning more than 30 years in the accounting and taxation professions, James brings a highly professional approach to his work.

James is dedicated to assisting clients reach their financial, business and personal goals and prides himself on his attention to detail. With extensive practical experience and technical expertise, he is able to provide tailored and innovative tax advisory and business structure advice for diverse groups and business entities. Providing advice across all areas of taxation, James has developed a niche expertise in the areas of capital gains tax, the small business CGT concessions, Division 7A, property tax (including GST) and the taxation of trusts.

Originally, from the UK, James has spent much of his career based in London working across a broad spectrum of accounting firms. He has spent a significant amount of time working at a high level in the music and entertainment business. Now fully assimilated into the Australian lifestyle, James enjoys spending his personal time with friends and family and pursuing the outdoor life. His interests include sport, music, travel and history.
